Crossroads Trailer was founded in Albert Lea, MN in 1986 by Darv Habben and Todd Wayne. It started out as an opportunity to deliver quality products and services to the transportation sector. Loyal customers were developed through the Founder’s ability to build strong relationships by providing honest, timely and consistent products and services throughout each transaction. Over the years, Crossroads has represented several different product lines, ultimately retaining the right to distribute Great Dane Trailers and Carrier Transicold refrigeration units in the late 90’s.
In 2014 Impco APU’s were added to our expanding product offerings. Carrier Transicold ultimately purchased Impco APU in 2018 and brought the product under the Carrier Transicold umbrella.
In 2015 Cheetah Chassis was added to the product lines represented creating an opportunity to assist the intermodal sector with the highest quality domestic chassis manufactured.
In 2018 Crossroads Trailer expanded beyond the Upper Midwest with the acquisition of Great Dane Trailers in the state of Colorado. In addition to Great Dane Trailers in Colorado, XL Specialized, Rway Trailers, and Nuttall Trailer lines were also added to the product offerings.
In 2021, Crossroads Sioux Falls moved to a larger parts and service facility allowing the location to expand and further assist customers in the area. Crossroads also acquired Northcutt Inc. in Wichita, Kansas. With the expansion of the Wichita facility, Crossroads Trailer is now R-Stamp certified and able to repair, inspect, and test tankers, as well as the addition of a paint and sandblast booth.
With the additional product lines, Crossroads Trailer has the ability to further assist the transportation sector with quality products and services throughout many regions.
Since the early days of the company, we have seen the industry develop and change, but the one thing that remains consistent is the commitment to provide each customer with the same respect and commitment to stand behind the sale regardless of how big or small.
Crossroads was founded as a family business and is still owned and operated locally with the same values and visions of the Founders. The new ownership group will capitalize on the knowledge and expertise passed down to build on the same principles that have made Crossroads one of the largest semi- trailer and refrigeration dealers in the country.
